Our Mission
A Roman Catholic church operated by priests of the Society of Saint Pius X, St. Peregrine’s seeks to preserve the Faith in all its fullness and purity, to teach its perennial truths, and to bring grace to souls with an authentic spiritual life founded upon the traditional Liturgy and Sacraments.
Although the traditional Latin Mass is the most visible and public expression of the work of the Society, we are committed to defending Catholic Tradition in its entirety: all of Catholic doctrine and morals as the Church has always defended them. This specific commitment is, in a word, what largely differentiates St. Peregrine Church from many area churches that may offer a Latin Mass. What people need is the Catholic Faith, without compromise, with all the truth and beauty which accompany it.
As a Catholic priestly fraternity, our role in the Church is to be a witness to what Catholic life was like before the disastrous changes in the Catholic Church in the 20th Century. Without inventing anything on our own, we hope to contribute to the restoration of all things in Christ by sharing with the Church at large what we have received from the Church herself.
Though the Mass is the crowning expression of what we believe, the doctrine it enshrines must be diffused beyond the limits of weekly Mass. To that end, St. Peregrine Academy carries out the ideals expressed in the liturgy, but in the form of catechesis and the education of youth. It is an extension of what we believe and confess in church, carried into the academic sphere. St. Peregrine Academy is committed to forming hearts and minds in the classical tradition, according to the collected wisdom of Holy Mother Church.
